2011 Mercedes-Benz B-Class E-CELL Plus Concept - Front Side

A new addition to its portfolio of Mercedes-Benz electric car is a near-series Mercedes-Benz B-Class E-CELL Coupled Concept - a compact model that meets all automotive needs every day with a total range of up to 600 kilometers. Thus, an electric vehicle is also ideal for long journeys and offering his driver unrestricted mobility. This is made possible by a combination of a strong electric drive generating a peak output power of 100 kW and a continuous output of 70 kW with 50 kW petrol engine. The latter is doing a dual role: at low vehicle speeds through the generator to charge the battery. At higher speeds - on the stretch of old highway, for example - it is an additional function as the driving engine, which works on the front wheel together with an electric motor through a newly developed automatic transmission.
